Rovers Rangers-

• For student welfare student counseling support is carried out by faculty as they need.
• Dr. R.K. Gupta, Reader, Commerce, has started a helpline to counsel students during examination days which help the students to control examination pressure.
• Senior students are also engaged in the part time work of Open University under “earn while you learn” system.

• One research student work in zoology on a UGC major project and earns Rs. 8000/month as research fellow.

Scholarship

• As GPGC is a government college where scholarship is provided by social welfare dept’s to all students whose parents income is less than 1 lakh/year
• In 2007-08 Rs. 500 scholarship was provided by directorate

Health Care centre (part time)

• There is First aid/health care center under the supervision of HOD, Zoology; this is visited by qualified doctors voluntarily at time to time to help the students.

Placement and counseling services for the students

• A counseling and placement centre is functioning in college since 2007-08
• The center carried out placement with the help of companies located in NCR
• In Dec 2007 Met-trade India, Delhi carried out campus placement and gave employment to 5 final year students.
• In Feb.09 Pedilitte industry visited the college for campus interview

• “Women help cell” is working in college for prevention/ action against sexual harassment of female students and staff.

Grievance redressal cell

• College has a grievance redressal cell which is under control of Chief
proctor- T.V.S. Yadav
• Its function is to

• develop a fearless environment in campus.
• check identity cards of students time to time to stop the entry of
  unwanted elements in college campus.
• maintain law and order inside the campus.


• There are complaint boxes in the college at each corner of building Students can drop their complaints in them and they are opened weekly in presence of Proctorial board.
• After enquiry the complaint is resolved.
• Students can approach any staff member of college regarding their problems and staff members after discussing it with principal resolve it.

• College publisher annual college magazine “URJA” to encourage students
and faculties to express their academic talent on a common literary platform

National Service Scheme (NSS)

NSS aims at creating in the students a sense of participation in nation building through programmes such as eradication of illiteracy, slum clearance, road building, voluntary health service, agricultural development, family planning, National Integration Campaign and Career Guidance for students and to inculcate a spirit of equality and fraternity in all section of society. The college has two units of N.S.S. for boys and two for girls. Students are encouraged to join N.S.S. in large numbers.


Presently Four Units of NSS (Two for girls & Two for boys) are working the college. Each unit consists of 100 students.

Rovers Rangers-

Rovers Rangers aims at creating the qualities of first aid, prepares the students to face natural calamities and make them self dependent. National Integration Campaign and Career Guidance help the students to inculcate a spirit of equality and fraternity in all sections of society.

Presently two Units of Rovers Rangers (one for girls & one for boys) are working in the college.

In the session 2011-12 college got the opportunity to organize Rovers/Rangers inter university meet. Our rovers team placed as 1st runner up in the rally.
