National Service Scheme was launched during Mahatama Gandhi’s birth centenary year 1969. The aim of National Service is “Development of the Personality of students through community service”. The National Service Scheme is aimed to achieve certain objectives, which are fulfilled through programme functionaries, officers and student volunteers. It is a community service programme in which volunteers and programme officers are engaged through constructive and productive programmes involving students in various awareness drives etc.
Government Postgraduate College Noida has four NSS units, which are actively and rigorously engaged in community programmes like Shramdaan, Blood Donation Camps, Swach Bharat Abhiyan, Communal Harmony, Environment Protection Awareness programme, Literacy programme, Health and Education programme. Each NSS volunteer is required to contribute 240 hours of community work in two years.
